The program

We empower the next generation of resilient leaders, our livelihood and entrepreneurship initiative equips youth, young women, and LGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs with the critical life skills and business acumen needed to navigate systemic inequality and targeted discrimination. In the face of Zimbabwe’s volatile economic climate, the program serves as a catalyst for stability, fostering the creation of micro-businesses that can withstand market volatility and social barriers.

Our Mission

Our mission is centered on inclusive growth, the promotion of economic rights, and the creation of decent work. By targeting the most vulnerable populations, we are not only safeguarding economic gains but ensuring that prosperity is accessible to all. Building on a proven track record of success, BDI has already trained over 250 young women and members of the LGBTI community in Zimbabwe. This vital work is made possible through the generous funding and strategic support of FREE FUND, Women Win, and the Embassy of Canada in Zimbabwe.
